Indonesia with over 250 million of population (40% of ASEAN population) has become the largest economy in ASEAN with good economic  growth and stable.  Indonesia goverment has allocated huge funds for development of infrastructure and transportation facilities, one of them is railway transport mode.  It aims to boost economic growth and equality throughout Indonesia.

Railway transportation mode is the most economical, environmentally, efficient and effective mode for mass transport.  Currently, Indonesia only has  4,069.4 km of active railway line of active and 3,708 km non-active. The government is targeting to build a new rail until 3,258 km.

RAILWAYTECH INDONESIA EXHIBITION & CONFERENCE 2017 Jakarta (29 March – 01 April 2017) Railwaytech Indonesia 2017 taking place from 29 March – 01 April 2017 at the JIExpo, Jakarta – Indonesia. It will be notably serving as one of the Indonesia’s most prospective one-stop exhibition for railway industry’s players to market their products under one roof in Indonesia.

The mega project will be implemented within 5 years until 2019 and spent IDR 105.6 trillion or USD 8 billion. This giant fund would be used to build 3,258 km railway line in a few strategic areas, increasing the number of trains and the construction of new stations.  The rail transport mode is aims to improve the logistics services, increase revenues from tourism, the effectiveness of the distribution of goods, energy efficiency and help solve the problem of congestion.
